A well written book by a person who has had years of experience with training and dedication. It's true that Zola may have loved his own flow of language too much ever to have edited his novel to modern satisfaction. After the Civil War, the entire nation emerged as a united people, and it is necessary for the Northern States to offer peace with those who they fought against in the South. I wholeheartedly recommend this series of booklets by Day One. I bought this to provide depth and context to my sweet girl for a Baby Jesus figurine given to me by a good friend that was based on this story. As with everything I've read from Ali Parker, this is well written and the story and characters well developed and continually evolving.
